Hello! I’m Ricky from 8NEST. We held a Japanese event this past Thursday.   This time, we used supermarket flyers to play a karuta-style game where everyone searched for and guessed the Japanese words listed on the flyers! It was wonderful to see everyone enthusiastically searching for words, understanding their meanings, and repeating them while having fun.   I volunteered teaching Japanese to foreigners for four years during my university days, and this brought back fond memories from that time, making me feel nostalgic. Since many residents at 8NEST Share House are short-term (average stay: about 3 to 6 months), exchange students visiting Japan don’t have many opportunities to learn Japanese. I want to host Japanese events that make learning Japanese feel fun for them, even just a little bit!
